Blood Theatre (1984).
Absolutely not to be confused with Theatre of Blood (1973, Vincent Price, Diana Rigg). I’ve seen both now and Theatre of Blood is fairly bad but, in balance, much much better than Blood Theatre.
I had to go and look this up but did you know that a steam powered popcorn maker was invented in 1885?
Oh, sorry, the review.
Blood Theatre is an outrageous delight if you are interested in trying to decode the relationship between the Spotlight movie theatre owner and his personal assistant. It poses bemusing questions such as ‘how did that girl keep her job?’ and ‘where did the strange old man live in the abandoned theatre?’ Also, don’t watch this if you are an electrician, the amount of clearly faulty equipment is worrying.
