Wonder Woman (2017).
Remind me again – why would legendary armour for a female warrior include wedge heeled boots? FFS. We’re back to echoes of the costuming from Aquaman aren’t we?
Also, maybe it was funny in the 1940’s to call a rotund female character Etta Candy. In this pretty movie about a totally gorgeous female superhero proving she can more than hold her own in a male focused culture, it kind of jangled a bit.
What else? It’s very pretty, but some of the CGI is maybe not as good as it could have been. The pacing is uneven. The slow bits are gruelling. Despite these negative points, Diana’s journey to becoming the Demigod of Nope is a decent origin story, and it’s a good attempt at evening the gender imbalance in superhero culture. Good, but no more than that. I can but hope that Wonder Woman 1984 is better.
