There’ll be no strings to bind your hands
not if my love can’t bind your heart.
There’s no need to take a stand
for it was I who chose to start.

Angel of the Morning (performed by Juice Newton, written by Chip Taylor)

“What the actual f*&k, Suse?” I can hear you thinking. “Dozens of cr%ppy B movies, schlock horror, and RiffTrax, for weeks on end, and then you pull this blinder out of your sleeve? The last movie review on the site is ‘The Terror Within II’, ffs!”

I know, I know. Thing is, I really like good movies too. They are just a bit more, shall we say, rare.

Deadpool. Captain Deadpool, as no one calls him, ever. Wade Wilson. I have mixed feelings about some of the other superhero movies. I have no mixed feelings about this one. The effects are good (although Colossus is a bit shiny) and the dialogue peppers along full of profanity and references to, well, just about everything. Pacing is good, which is unique for an origin story, usually you get a long slow build. Not so here!

It’s a geeky little paradise of a movie. My Garmin Forerunner Triathletes watch proudly boasts the same Adventure Time watch face featured in this movie. I’m not ashamed to admit that. It makes me grin every time it tells me how unfit I am.

You should totally watch this movie. Unless you don’t like swearing, violence or sex references. But otherwise, you know. Totally. It’s a love story.

(Stay tuned for more B movie, schlock horror and Rifftrax reviews, btw!)
