A bullied boy finds a sword on a building site and begins a quest to find his dad, aided by his friend, his former bullies and a boy who sometimes turns into an owl who sometimes turns into Captain Picard. Oh, and there is a villain to overcome with the aid of a group of plucky kid/s.
Rated PG and thus a good enough tale for the tale it is trying to tell. Our Young Person is perhaps a little old now to enjoy such gentle forays into fiction. I cannot complain too much, given the circumstances. It is a good PG movie. We particularly liked the somatic components of spell casting.
