This movie sure loves the colour yellow.
Anyway. Meet Spenser. Spenser is an ex-cop, coming out of five years in prison, having pled guilty to harassing another cop, and assaulting him, and whatever. Some hammy flashbacks tell us really quickly that Spenser is a good person, who assaulted a corrupt cop who beat his wife.
Spenser goes to stay with his friend Harry, who runs a fight club. He meets Hawk, tries to avoid his ex-girlfriend, and is startled when the cop he went to jail for assaulting is brutally slain and the murder pinned on another cop that he knows is a good guy too.
There’s lots of unravelling, and at the end Spenser wins the day.
There’s nothing really outstanding about this movie. Spenser is some kind of tough guy who has a heart of gold. Is he nice? Is he likeable? I don’t know. It’s kind of hard to pin a movie on a character you might not like and might not dislike either. I guess it’s like Marmite, huh?
