It’s a coming of age Spider-Man, complete with road trip.
This movie did not wash me away, if I’m honest (which I always am in these notes). It filled some time. It wasn’t awful. It wasn’t great. Some things happened and then it ended. Yes, there was a villain. Yes, Spider-Man saved the day.
In fact I thought the strongest part about this movie was the supporting cast. Michael Keaton is the Vulture, a well thought out character. Robert Downey Jr is of course professionally Tony Stark (does anyone else remember when he was briefly Sherlock Holmes? Goddamn I miss him being Sherlock Holmes.) Zendaya rocks the role of MJ, though she doesn’t have that much to do in the grand scheme of things. Jon Favreau is Happy Hogan, and even Donald Glover pops up as a slightly recurring character.
Sorry, Peter.
