Young man goes to stay with his granpa after his grandmother dies,
Grandma’s last present to her grandson leads him right to a haunted spoon. Thanks, Grandma!
Young man is then haunted, and in his sleep, begins to hunt down and set on fire a number of granpas. There is a story behind this but it’s told in such a fragmented and uncertain way that it takes a while for it to all come together. For some reason there is a young woman at a local store that finds the young man fanciable.
That bit does not fit. It’s not that kind of story.
There are a few elements in this story that I’d expect to come across in a Stephen King novel. Slow, sleepy back water US town. Old man and his grandson. Things starting to come out of the past. Uncomfortable things. Alas! this misjudged box of bats is all we get, no polish, no depth, no punch. So we watched the Rifftrax version and were very happy to do so.
